We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
John Adams and Thomas Jefferson became the 2nd and 3rd Presidents of the United States, respectively.
John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4, 1826, fifty years after writing the Declaration of Independence. Volumes have been written about the genius of both men.
